After her education in economics and public policy, Amna Zaman has been working in gender-based violence policy and interventions.
She worked with local non-government organisations in Pakistan on the prevalence and dynamics of violence against the transgender community, evaluated interventions for juvenile justice in children’s courts, and worked with grass root community groups on political advocacy for minorities rights and unionisation for working class women.
She taught public policy and administration at Quaid-i-Azam university before leaving for Canada where she has worked as a policy advisor with the government of Ontario for their violence against women programs.
